Special Needs Day
Thursday July 24th : 2 pm to 4 pm
The Buffalo County Fair, in partnership with the Heart of America Shows Carnival and Midway Auto Dealerships, will be providing children and adults with developmental and/or physical disabilities to a private day at the Fair. The Buffalo County Fair is teaming up with several volunteer groups to make it possible for children or adults who would otherwise not be able to attend the fair, have one of their own fair experiences.
This year we will have a few activities in the newly air-conditioned Exhibit Building – face painting, selfie museums and sensory activities– otherwise the Midway Carnival and Games & Activities will be open from 2 pm to 4 pm. Tours of the Livestock barns will be from 3 pm to 4 pm. We will also have buddies available for the day. Please register online here so we know how many buddies we need for this incredible day. Look for our volunteers on the grounds that can help with any questions you might have! See you at the 2024 Buffalo County Fair. Quickdraw Caricatures
A ten-year-old Dirk became captivated while watching a caricaturist attract a big audience at Knotts Berry Farm in Los Angeles. Being a budding artist himself, that very night young Dirk informed his parents, ” I can do that ! ” Performing in his own style ever since, and after wrapping up a 40 year career in broadcasting, Dirk has made good on his claim. As a full-time artist, Dirk “draws” big crowds at fairs, public and private events wherever he travels ! Dirk Christensen performs LIVE in a half-dozen heartland states (see the service area map) or, in his studio, creates one-of-a-kind gifts for caricature lovers across America.

Magic Halls
3 different magic shows each day: Vegas Revue is a combination of comedy, illusion, and quick-change that Kevin Hall has performed in Vegas, on cruise ships, and America’s Got Talent. Be the Star Show makes the audience members the stars of the show – very interactive. Brain Bender Experience displays the strange world of mental and kinetic confusions. He now has his own stage!
